RSA's RDOPrint Makes NexPress' SmartBoard Better

Press release from the issuing company

Rochester, NY, August 8, 2005 – Rochester Software Associates, Inc., a leading provider of digital document workflow solutions has begun shipping the latest version of RDOPrint, a tool that converts proprietary Xerox DigiPath RDO (Raster Document Objects) to industry standard PostScript and PDF. The latest version of RDOPrint, version 4.0, offers tighter integration with SmartBoard from Kodak's NexPress, for enhanced Make Ready capabilities. RDOPrint accepts RDO documents and delivers intelligent PostScript code with appropriate “Plex” and “Slip” commands to ensure the final output from SmartBoard will conform to the user's original RDO document design. This offers the operator reliable output using open standards, such as PostScript and PDF, and the flexibility of choosing the production printer of their choice. RDOPrint takes the “Make Ready” process and turns it into “All Ready”! “RSA's developers work hard to integrate with the numerous production printers and Make Ready platforms in the marketplace.” noted Tim Kelly, Senior Vice President at RSA. “The integration with SmartBoard is the latest example of RSA's commitment to compatibility and production grade output.” RDOPrint is offered in a number of flexible choices…it is available for purchase, rental, or outsource the conversion to RSA, depending on the customer's short-term and long-term needs. RDOPrint has been available on the Sun Solaris platform but is now available for PCs running Windows. This enables a low-cost, hardware-independent solution for rental or purchase. RDOPrint delivers a quick return on investment each time a document is printed. It enables customers to move to open systems printers and file formats. RDOPrint is available from all major print vendors.
