Unisource Announces Improvements to Popular Docusource Brand

Press release from the issuing company

NORCROSS, Ga.--July 21, 2005-- Unisource Reaffirms National Digital Paper Strategy Improving Business Imaging and Digital Papers Product Offerings Unisource announced improvements today -- including a 92 brightness rating (GE Tappi) and a more pleasing blue-white shade -- to their popular Docusource(TM) brand of premium business paper. These improvements were made without increasing the cost to customers. "Docusource is a popular brand for Unisource and one of our most requested products. We will now provide our customers a higher quality product at the same price," said Garth Geist, category director, Business Imaging Papers for Unisource. "These product enhancements solidify our market-leading position providing the industry's broadest portfolio of branded business papers. We understand the need to provide our customers with value-oriented products that will allow them to profitably manage their business." Docusource is well-positioned within the company's other branded business papers. These product offerings include Econosource(TM) (84 bright) and Technisource(TM) Uncoated Color Copy (95 bright). Increasing the brightness of Docusource to 92 provides customers with a "good, better, and best" paper offering. The brightness and shade selected for Docusource stacks up well in comparison to competitive products. "Our business papers selection includes private, mill, and OEM branded papers. We continue to offer the print market everything from high-volume copy paper to technology specific papers for specialized digital printing applications. When you combine our paper offerings with our nationwide distribution capability, no one offers a more varied selection of business papers to more customers than Unisource," said Ed Farley, vice-president, Uncoated Paper. Super Gloss C1S added to Technisource(TM) Unisource also announced the addition of Technisource(TM) Super Gloss C1S, a high end, cast-coated paper available in a coated one-side cover in 10 pt. and 12 pt. This expands the Technisource line, the company's private brand line of premium digital papers. The comprehensive Technisource line includes uncoated color copy, matte coated laser, and gloss coated laser in a variety of sizes and basis weights. The new Technisource Super Gloss C1S papers are designed with a special coating for laser printing (both color and black & white) including desktop and production digital printing devices. While specifically designed for laser printing, Technisource Super Gloss C1S is also suitable for offset and digital imaging (DI) printing presses. "There are only a few ultra-premium laser papers available today, and Technisource Super Gloss C1S was added to our product line to give print customers an additional choice when printing needs require a heavier coated stock," Geist said. "Our Super Gloss C1S papers are super-smooth, feature a 94 brightness and compare very favorably to both mill brand and OEM labeled high end laser papers. The 10 pt. & 12 pt. cover weights are suitable for postcard mailers, report covers, menus, calendars or anywhere higher quality output is desired in a more substantial basis weight." Inventory now available at Unisource locations and PaperPlus(TM) Stores nationwide Unisource now has inventory of new Docusource & Technisource Super Gloss C1S at many of its distribution centers and PaperPlus stores throughout the US.
