PARAMUS, N.J., JULY 18, 2005 – The Soderstrom Society of the National Association for Printing Leadership (NAPL) has named Harris DeWese, chairman and chief executive officer of Compass Capital Partners, recipient of its 45th annual Walter E. Soderstrom Award. One of the printing industry’s most prestigious honors, the award will be presented to DeWese by NAPL Chairman David C. Branch, chairman and CEO of Branch-Smith, Inc., Fort Worth, Texas, at the annual, invitation-only dinner meeting of the Walter E. Soderstrom Society on Saturday, Sept. 10, at the Mid-America Club in Chicago.
“Harris has used his considerable energy, enthusiasm, and expertise in myriad ways to benefit the industry and the companies that comprise it,” said NAPL President and CEO Joseph P. Truncale in making the announcement. “From his well-deserved reputation as one of graphic communications’ leading sales gurus to his long record of helping companies grow through mergers and acquisition, Harris has made a contribution that few have equaled. I and everyone at NAPL sincerely congratulate him on this well-deserved honor.”
Named for the late Walter E. Soderstrom, one of the founders of NAPL, the award has been bestowed annually since 1961 to a distinguished individual who has contributed significantly to the development and progress of the printing industry. The recipient is selected by fellow members of the Soderstrom Society, an honors organization that provides industry leaders with the opportunity to exchange ideas, suggest improved practices, and recognize the contributions of their peers, including printing firm owners, equipment manufacturers, consultants, and educators.
