Goss M-600 offers major Spanish print group more productivity and less waste

Press release from the issuing company

July 18th, 2005, Artes Gráficas del Mediterráneo, Spain, part of Editorial Prensa Ibérica, one of Spain’s largest newspaper publishing groups, has bought its first Goss M-600 C press to deliver high quality commercial print and increased productivity on shorter print runs. Artes Gráficas del Mediterráneo, one of Editorial Prensa Ibérica’s two heatset commercial printing sites, specializes in short- and medium-run magazines as well as leaflets and direct mail advertising products for large organizations. The facility’s new Goss M-600 C press, which will be installed at the end of 2005, has been specified with Goss Autoplate automatic plate-changing, Goss Omnicon press controls and closed-loop color controls to maximize the advantages of full automation, delivering high quality print at increased speeds. Manuel García, Manager of Artes Gráficas del Mediterráneo explains, “Increased automation and high print quality are key to achieving success in the present day print market; this is why we have decided to invest in an M-600 C press. Once it is installed we expect it to take over jobs that are currently being printed in the market by sheetfed offset presses. The Goss M-600 press will allow us to deliver high-quality print much faster and with significantly less waste so that we can give our customers the best service available.” Running at speeds up to 55,000 impressions per hour, the new press will also be configured with a Goss Contiweb CS splicer and a Goss Ecocool dryer. These will integrate with the Omnicon controls to offer faster and more efficient web-feed and drying, further maximizing productivity. The facility at Artes Gráficas del Mediterráneo is currently undergoing major re-conditioning work and is making investments in new CTP systems and finishing equipment. Antoine Chevalier, Director of Commercial Web Product Management at Goss International adds, “Artes Gráficas del Mediterráneo and its parent company Editorial Prensa Ibérica, is a new customer for us and so we are particularly delighted to be working with the organization at such an exciting time. The company has identified that the Goss M-600 press offers unmistakable advantages in terms of automation and productivity, without any compromise in quality. With this investment it gains a clear competitive edge and ensures its long-term position as a major player in the Spanish print market.”
