Offenburg, Germany and Lichtenvoorde, the Netherlands – May 17, 2005 – Burda Druck, a major producer of magazines, catalogues and brochures at four different international locations, and among Europe's leading printing companies, and DiMS! organizing print, leading supplier of Management Information Solutions for the printing and packaging industry, jointly announce that Burda Druck will optimise their processes by installing the fully integrated DiMS! management system across all locations in Germany, France and Slovakia.
In order for Burda Druck to retain and build on its position as a world class printer a detailed requirements specification was produced. Burda Druck put DiMS! And other potential vendors through an intensive evaluation process. This incorporated the needed functionality, technology and the proven ability to successfully implement an enterprise wide print management system across 3 countries and languages. Burda decided that DiMS! best met their requirements; “DiMS! is a software package that already meets our needs very well out of the box,” said Mr. Patrick Douglas-Meis, Production Manager Druck, Burda Druck. “In addition, the experience of DiMS! organizing print as industry leader gives us the opportunity to install a state-of-the-art system in which most of the latest print ERP-related developments are already incorporated.”
With the installation of a new MIS system, Burda wants to enforce clear and efficient operating procedures in all locations in order to improve their world class performance. “DiMS!’ end-to-end integration, combined with its customer-oriented workflow approach and multi-plant and multi-lingual capabilities will really improve our business across the entire organization,” according to Mr. Patrick Douglas-Meis.
Mr Vincent Rikkerink, General Manager, DiMS! GMBH commented “After such a detailed investigation into systems we are delighted to be working together with Burda Druck. They are very professional company and we look forward to help Burda Druck be even more successful with the implementation of DiMS!”
One particular attraction of the DiMS! is the Business Template concept which provides a stable, standard basis for the system along with the tools to tune the processes to Burda’s precise needs.
