Tower Announces New, Innovative Products To Comply With Southern California Air Regulations

Press release from the issuing company

(Lehigh Valley, PA) TOWER PRODUCTS, INC., a leading manufacturer of environmentally sensitive pressroom chemistry, has announced that several innovative, new technologies are available to printers in Southern California to comply with new air (VOC) regulations that go into effect in July 2005. Three low VOC washes manufactured under a US Patent owned by Tower Products meet the stringent new regulations that direct printers to use blanket washes under 500 grams per liter, or about 4.0 pounds per gallon. LO-VO Wash E-200 and LO-VO Wash 50 are formulated for sheetfed and web printers that require solid cleaning power but need a high flashpoint. The products feature a low odor and are water miscible. They do not contain acetone, a very flammable material used to decrease VOC content in some products. Tower also can provide web printers with an Oxy-Dry/Heidelberg Harris approved automatic wash with LO-VO Wash 2000 Auto, to reduce VOC’s to 252 grams per liter. In addition, a new UV/EB Wash will be available shortly that will reduce VOC’s to 475 grams per liter. UV Wash 500 does not contain acetone or any reportable toxic ingredients and can effectively clean UV/EB ink in sheetfed and web applications. The product has a moderate drying speed and low odor, with flashpoint over 142 degrees. Sample product for evaluation is available immediately on these products by calling our customer care line at 800.527.8626.
