Thomas Register To Cease Printed Version, Going Online

Press release from the issuing company

NEW YORK--May 31, 2005-- Thomas Industrial Network, Inc. (www.ThomasNet.com), the leading provider of Internet sourcing and marketing solutions for industrial buyers and sellers, today announced that it is discontinuing its print publications, reflecting an over ten-year transition to the Internet as the primary information source of the industrial market. Following the 2006 edition of the Thomas Register(R) of American Manufacturers, Thomas Industrial Network will cease publication of this print directory, familiarly known to industry as the "Big Green Books." The Thomas Register Regional Buying Guides will be discontinued as well. The full information from these publications, and much more, will continue to be available free-of-charge at ThomasNet.com. For years, the Internet has played a growing role in how buyers and specifiers source for products and services, and today, it is often the only resource they use. "We have been working right along with our clients to help them build a strong Internet presence to reach these buyers," said Eileen G. Markowitz, President, Thomas Industrial Network. "As an Internet marketing company, all our energies and investments are directed to serving our clients - where and how they can best reach customers. To do this, we provide Internet marketing and website and content management solutions, including online catalogs, e-commerce capabilities and CAD drawing distribution." Thomas' clients have seen first-hand how the Internet can help their businesses. Minor Rubber, a leading manufacturer of rubber products, has been an advertiser in Thomas publications since 1952. "We've always benefited from Thomas' deep content expertise and wide customer reach," said Tom Fitzheney, Vice President of Sales, Minor Rubber. "Over the past few years we have shifted much of our advertising investment to Thomas' online offerings, including ThomasNet.com, and have seen sales increase dramatically." ThomasNet.com is the leading online resource in the industrial/business-to-business arena. Over one million visitors - qualified as industrial buyers and engineers - turn to ThomasNet.com each month to find the products and services they need. "Industrial suppliers depend on us to help them attract the right buyers for what they sell, and help them improve their websites so they can turn those buyers into long-term customers," said Ms. Markowitz.
