Sun Chemical To Introduce Total Package Of Inks, Print Consumables At Print 05

Press release from the issuing company

NORTHLAKE, IL - MAY 23, 2005 - Sun Chemical, the world’s foremost ink maker, will emphasize its singular ability to provide printers a total package of printing consumables designed to make their work more efficient at Print 05, which will be held September 8-15 at McCormick Place in Chicago, IL. “Print 05 is the world’s leading graphic arts show this year, and we will use this opportunity to demonstrate our capacity to provide total solutions through innovative inks, coatings and other new products,” said Chris Morrissey, Sun Chemical corporate vice president, marketing. “At Print 05, we will offer new product lines that can help increase pressroom productivity, and we back these with the global resources of the largest ink manufacturer with facilities around the world.” Kohl & Madden, the Sun Chemical division which primarily serves the North American commercial printing market, will feature Marathon, a robust, new sheetfed ink series. “Marathon inks offer more performance-laden features than any other inks K&M has ever released,” according to Brian Breidigan, K&M vice president, marketing and business development. These inks offer outstanding reproduction, even with stochastic screening. They have a wide lithographic window and extended stay-open properties that reduce the need for press washes and streamline make-readies.” Sun Chemical’s North American Publication Inks will show results of its PrintEasy heatset offset product line. PrintEasy includes highly versatile inks formulated for use on specific grades of paper. PrintEasy also includes a total package of fountain solutions, blankets and technical service processes that reinforce Sun Chemical’s commitment to creating value and high-quality service. The inks utilize new resin technology so the four separate ink profiles Solar, SunShine, Challenge and UltraPrint are fit for use on wider platforms of paper stock and printing applications. “These inks can help the most discriminating printer reach optimum press performance on substrates ranging from newsprint to high basis weight enamels,” said Mark Levin, president, Sun Chemical North American Publication Inks. Both K&M and Publication Inks products can be matched with fountain solutions and blankets from highly regarded Rycoline Products, which was acquired by Sun Chemical in 2004. At Print 05, Rycoline will exhibit blankets and founts designed specifically to improve performance when used in conjunction with other Sun Chemical products and are available directly from Rycoline, Kohl & Madden and Sun Chemical. The Sun Chemical booth also will feature the latest emerging technologies in such areas as color management and brand security.
