RSA’s RDOPrint 4.0 Offers Streamlined Conversion of RDO Files
Press release from the issuing company
Rochester, NY, May 17, 2005 - Rochester Software Associates (RSA) has enhanced the widely popular RDOPrint, a trustworthy enterprise-class solution for converting proprietary Xerox RDO (Raster Document Object) print jobs into industry standard PostScript and PDF documents.
RDOPrint enables customers to leverage their investment in documents created as RDO files, and print these files on any PostScript printer. The latest release of RDOPrint includes support for versions 2.x, 3.x, and 4.x of the RDO specification, for enhanced compatibility. These proprietary files can be converted to PostScript Level 3 as well as PDF, and a companion XML/HTML job ticket is produced for the operator’s benefit.
Documents, once converted to PostScript or PDF files, have added value as they can be printed on virtually any printer. They can also be stored, shared, and viewed as PDF formatted files. Input sources include CD, DVD, Magneto-Optical Disk, FTP or network drives. Supported output includes PostScript Production Printers, file servers, print servers, or CD. RDOPrint delivers formatted files optimized for the leading Makeready tools and PostScript Production Printers.
RDOPrint continues to offer flexible license, rental, or service bureau options. Customers can outsource the conversion process to RSA, choose on-site rental for short-term needs, or purchase a site license of RDOPrint to run as needed when convenient, yielding increasing returns with each document processed. RDOPrint software runs on the customer’s Windows PC or a highly reliable Sun workstation, provided by RSA, a Sun iForce partner. RDOPrint runs in the same easy to use graphic console, whether on a PC or Sun, so UNIX knowledge is not required if customers choose the Sun platform.
RDOPrint delivers a quick return on investment each time a document is printed. It enables customers to move to open systems printers and file formats. RDOPrint is available from all major print vendors and outsourcing customers can go to www.rocsoft.com to learn more and submit jobs.
