Creo Demonstrates Powerful Unified Workflows at AIIM On Demand

Press release from the issuing company

AIIM On Demand Expo, Philadelphia, PA, USA (May 17, 2005) – Creo Inc. has developed unified workflow options for printers to integrate digital print capabilities with their existing Creo Prinergy and Brisque offset prepress workflow systems. Creo unified workflow solutions integrate offset and digital printing, helping printers to achieve improved workforce and workflow efficiencies. Creo is demonstrating unified offset and digital workflows at AIIM On Demand, showing live integration between the Spire color server and the Prinergy and Brisque workflow systems on the Creo booth (#1832). Creo solutions help printers optimize their existing offset operations and expand their digital printing capabilities economically to accommodate shorter print runs and personalization. Printers can capitalize on years of operator expertise and benefit from a centralized workflow. Through greater integration, Creo unified workflows allow more efficient processing of split jobs (printed digitally and offset), increased flexibility to respond to print buyer needs, and greater automation for faster turnaround times. New! Advanced Integration Features in Creo Workflows Streamline Digital Print Both Prinergy and Brisque feature advanced options for integrating offset and digital workflows to streamline the sharing of jobs across production lines for proofing, short run and personalized jobs. In a unified production environment, jobs are often prepared and/or proofed, with Prinergy and Brisque handling tasks like preflight, normalizing/RIPing, trapping and color management. Files can then be sent to a digital press for output. New Prinergy 3.0 delivers an enhanced digital print feature, providing faster, more flexible integration options for digital printing. Prinergy can now automate digital print output by sending files directly to any JDF-enabled digital press. For printers without JDF-enabled digital front ends (DFEs) and/or digital presses, Prinergy 3.0 can also automate job submission to any Xerox digital press via the Xerox FreeFlow Print Manager integrated directly in the Prinergy desktop. This newly enhanced feature delivers faster back-end processing, with an option to manually launch the FreeFlow Print Manager application to gain extended control over the Xerox digital press printing set-up and remote queue management. Available soon, the new Brisque 5.0 Auto-Impose feature for Spire color servers supports setting the job parameters, and imposing jobs in Brisque for use in a Spire digital job. Once the specific model and version of the Spire color server has been identified, the Brisque system sends these parameters in JDF, enabling complete process automation. The Brisque and Spire interface enables automated, error-free unified workflow. Creo Demonstrates Digital Print Integration at AIIM On Demand Creo is committed to the development of open standards and cross-vendor integration for offset and digital print solutions as part of Networked Graphic Production. Creo is demonstrating connectivity between Creo workflow systems and Spire color servers to Xerox digital presses, including the Xerox DocuColor 8000 and the DocuColor 3535 on the Creo booth (#1832). Add Value to Offset and Digital Printing with Creo Software Printers can also leverage proven Creo software solutions to help assemble and manage both digital and offset print jobs. Synapse InSite enables online job submission, proofing, collaboration, and project and approval tracking, helping to reduce turnaround times and the cost of materials and couriers. The Spire color server has special integration with Synapse InSite which enables the printer and print buyer to use it for publishing Ready to Print (RTP) jobs with digital printing. This unique capability ensures that post-RIPed data is proofed. Synapse Prepare software also enhances a Spire/Xerox workflow by automating PDF creation and preflight, ensuring that files match print specifications, reducing the delays and costs of rework. Preps imposition software enhances the performance of Xerox equipment by extending the range of work that can be produced, turning digital printers into true on-demand printing presses. Designed specifically for the needs of the digital print market, Profile Wizard Digi color management software easily creates color profiles to enhance the quality and consistency of digital printing. Visit Creo at AIIM On Demand from May 17–19 to see live demonstrations of unified workflow for digital and offset printing on booth #1832.
