PHILADELPHIA--May 18, 2005-- EFI, the world leader in digital imaging and print management solutions for commercial and enterprise printing, today announced the availability of industry-leading Fiery System 6e software for the Ricoh Corporation Aficio Color 5560 and the multifunction Aficio 3260C, new additions to the Ricoh color family that deliver 55 ppm and 45 ppm color output speeds respectively. The EFI Fiery print controller delivers industry-leading color quality and control, as well as maximum speed, even for the most complex color documents, authentic Postscript and native PDF printing, exceptional reliability, and heightened security solutions. The EFI print controller optimizes the Aficio systems to offer high functionality, user convenience and enhanced color capability, and come standard with copying, scanning, and printing capabilities. Leveraging EFI's renowned expertise in developing digital color profiles and tools for the most demanding color professionals, Color Profiler is a turnkey application that enables novices and professionals alike to readily create, communicate and manage color. Advanced functionality includes auto trapping for layered graphics. Also available is Fiery Spot-On, which enables accuracy and consistency and helps manage named color and corporate colors. Spot-On matches Pantone library colors with their best CMYK equivalents and supports branding efforts by standardizing the appearance of corporate colors. Enhanced Productivity New Fiery intelligent processing software, Gigabit Ethernet support and 2GHz CPU speed accelerates the processing of documents and ensures the fastest printing possible on Postscript, PDF, MS Office (particularly PowerPoint), and other large, color image files. Authentic Postscript The Fiery controller includes an EFI/Adobe co-developed PostScript interpreter to process the print job. Ricoh will also demonstrate the new Fiery E-8000 external server, well-suited for more demanding environments, driving a recently announced Aficio system. The E-8000 server is scheduled to ship in Fall 2005.
