Mahoney Print Services Uses Xerox iGen3 Press To Expand Business

Press release from the issuing company

SANTA CLARA, Calif., and ROCHESTER, N.Y., May 12, 2005 - Mahoney Print Services, a commercial printer based in the Silicon Valley, has installed a Xerox iGen3 Digital Production Press to expand beyond its traditional high-technology business into new markets such as creative services companies, banks and print brokers that match print jobs to print producers. The company has seen its revenue from color jobs increase from 37 percent in 2004 to more than 50 percent in the first three months of this year with the iGen3 press. Mahoney anticipates doubling its color print volume within the next three months. Mahoney Print Services does a significant amount of work for high-technology companies, mostly producing short-run software manuals.  But it looked to Xerox to provide a new technology that would differentiate the company and help it expand into new markets and applications. "We built our business in the 1990s with DocuTechs, and now Xerox has delivered again with the iGen3 press," said John Mahoney, director of sales and marketing, Mahoney Print Services.  "This digital press is our future.  It is keeping us competitive and is a big reason why we are generating a profit." The company has tripled its print run lengths with the Xerox iGen3 and is now able to produce jobs on a wider range of paper more quickly, consistently and economically.  Mahoney Print Services is also increasing the number of short-run, full-color marketing and postcard jobs and is beginning to grow its personalized direct mail business. Mahoney Print Services operates a Web-based system to produce personalized materials on its iGen3 press, making it cost-effective, scalable and user-friendly for its clients.  "One of the challenges for customers looking to institute a personalized printing program is developing and managing the program itself," said Mahoney.  "We make it easy and put the power of personalization within reach for many clients." Since 1986, Mahoney Print Services has been on the leading edge of complete media management and distribution solutions for small, medium and large corporations throughout Silicon Valley and the world. A 20-employee, family-run business committed to providing customers with the highest level of service, quality and innovative technology, Mahoney has exclusively used Xerox digital print technology for more than a decade.
