XMPie Unveils Udirect Professional With Advanced Capabilities For Variable Data Printing
Press release from the issuing company
NEW YORK, MAY 3, 2005 –XMPie Inc, the leading provider of software for dynamic publishing, today announced the launch of uDirect Professional 2.0. Expanding its Variable Data Print (VDP) desktop product line, XMPie is offering this midrange solution following the introduction of uDirect Standard at Graph Expo last fall. Using uDirect Professional 2.0, creative and printing professionals can easily and efficiently develop sophisticated variable data and version-driven direct marketing programs. To see first hand the power of uDirect Professional and uDirect Standard, visit XMPie (booth #2152) at the OnDemand show in Philadelphia, May 17th – 19th.
uDirect Professional 2.0 has two production modes: uDirect mode and uCreate mode. In uDirect mode a designer can produce a variable campaign within Adobe InDesign CS by accessing a flat-table data file, such as a database from Microsoft Excel without involving a programmer. In uCreate mode professionals can utilize the design capabilities of uDirect, plus uPlan, an advanced database connectivity and variable data programming tool to create highly personalized campaigns.
“Since the release of uDirect last year, our customers have been requesting a midrange desktop product that will handle more sophisticated programming for developing very creative and targeted campaigns,” said Eyal S. Goldwerger, CEO of XMPie. “uDirect Professional 2.0 is an affordably-priced, commercial-grade application unlike any other on the market today. Its advanced features help users easily produce sophisticated variable campaigns within mere hours of installation, in order to generate excellent ROI.”
XMPie’s approach to product development is modularity – creating highly flexible and scalable solutions that are fully compatible with each other. The uDirect desktop product line is also fully compatible with XMPie’s PersonalEffect server-based solutions, allowing uDirect product owners to collaborate with facilities powered by PersonalEffect in order to leverage its unique capabilities, such as advanced/high volume production features and cross-media campaign capabilities.
