Montreal, Canada, April 27, 2005. Ultimate Technographics Inc, the leading imposition software developer and the inventor of digital imposition, is pleased to announce the immediate release of Impostrip Version 8. Impostrip V8 adds more horsepower and torque to any CTP workflow. V8 is supercharged for high performance allowing for greater PPH (Plates Per Hour) than any other imposition engine on the market thanks to its exceptional Automatic transmission.
Dynamic Templates bring unmatched flexibility
Impostrip V8 relieves the user of the tedious task of creating endless quantities of templates. The Dynamic Template feature means a template can be assigned too many different jobs: no need to make a new template every time the page count changes, the page size of a magazine is modified or the binding method.
Impostrip Dynamic Marks feature offers unsurpassed suppleness and intelligence because they can be associated to the template where they are auto-adjusted to the template and all their properties can be controlled.
Impostrip Automatic Transmission with advanced Hot Folders
The Dynamic Templates can be associated to hot folders, the Impostrip Automatic Transmission that allows jobs to flow from anywhere on the network, satellite or from FTP site straight to printing plates on the CTP. Impostrip is the only imposition engine equipped with a fully automatic transmission.
Built-in Ganging: With the addition of an intuitive built-in ganging feature enabling pre-press professionals to do double-burns, insert double-page spreads and gang loose pages; and the ability to do sectioning, regrouping pages that shares common colors to create a new distinct signature; and repeating booklets for improved binding of books; Impostrip, provides more alternatives to automate and speed plate making for printers.
This is combined with Impostrip’s Client/server architecture which allows multiple users to drive the engine at the same time, this comes as standard equipment. Impostrip supports JDF workflow and all popular PJTF and placement file workflows.

“In discussing workflow for printers, we realize that the industry is often unaware of the impact imposition software can have on the workflow,” explains David Watson, President and CEO Ultimate Technographics. “It is the imposition software that controls the content of the digital plate and controls the efficiency of creating that content. A printing plate is a collection of rotated, placed pages and necessary marks. The time it takes to create that plate content, and the degree of automation, has a big impact on the ROI of a CtP investment. All imposition software does some kind of imposition, but how efficiently? There is a significant difference in the various products. Some products change very little, but at Ultimate we have been doing imposition software for 15 years and every year we develop new features based on our customers needs. Version 8 of Impostrip is one of our most dramatic improvements yet.”
Impostrip V8 client/server imposition is available in a multi-client version and a less expensive single-client version known as Impostrip Solo. Both versions are shipping know. Fully working 5-day demo version is available at www.imposition.com
