Newark, NJ, April 12, 2005 - Prisco (Printers' Service) is pleased to inform the industry that three non-corrosive fountain solution concentrates introduced to the printing industry last year have exceeded performance expectations. Our new formulations are now well proven in the day-to-day operations of printing plants within the US and Europe. Our one-step, alcohol eliminating concentrates are the first formulations in the industry to increase press operating latitude with today’s printing substrates and ink formulations while ensuring conformity to FOGRA’s exacting standards. Prisco non-corrosive formulas are approved by MAN Roland, Heidelberg, KBA and Goss (formerly Heidelberg Harris) for use on their presses. Products currently available are:
· Questar CTP CR-1S is a one-step highly buffered formula with an extremely wide operating press latitude, primarily for sheetfed printing. The product was designed for maximum image area protection of CTP plates.
· Webfount 225E is ideal for high-speed heatset web presses with continuous dampening systems. The demanding environment of high-speed heatset printing requires a product that will achieve maximum productivity. Webfount 225E is designed to promote short makeready times, prevent web breaks and control calcium and piling.
· Webfount 225A is a version of Webfount 225E for highly alkaline water
· Webfount 115E is for coldset web printing and heatset presses with brush dampening systems. The formula makes it easy to control water and ink balance for faster job turn-around times. Your fountain system will remain cleaner and free of slime and fungus with Webfount 115E.
“Never before has the industry had non-corrosive fountain concentrate options for MAN Roland, Heidelberg, KBA and Goss presses that meet the performance expectations of printers in North America,” said Eric Gutwillig, Prisco’s Marketing Vice-President. “Prisco believes that this development is a significant milestone in fountain solution technology.”
