Danka to Distribute and Support eCopys Open Platform Products

Press release from the issuing company

ST. PETERSBURG, FLORIDA (April 6, 2005), Danka Business Systems PLC today announced that they will distribute and support eCopy’s newest Open Platform products on Danka’s portfolio of equipment, including Canon, Toshiba and HP products. Danka will distribute eCopy ShareScan OP v3.0 and ScanStation OP v3.0, eCopy’s new flagship products unveiled at the eCopy Paper Connection Forum in Miami, Florida. ShareScan OP v3.0 is open platform document imaging and distribution software that transforms digital multifunction equipment and scanners into business workflow assets and extends the use of business’ digital imaging systems. “eCopy’s newest Open Platform products enable Danka to implement eCopy across our entire digital hardware portfolio,” said Mike Howard, Senior Vice President, Professional Services at Danka Business Systems. “The Danka field organization is excited about the greater flexibility this technology brings to our customers, independent of hardware device. We expect our customers to continue to add value to their hardware investments through eCopy’s software platform and Danka design, implementation, and support services expertise.” The ShareScan OP software is optimized to operate on the eCopy ScanStation, a touch screen, keyboard, and PC that attaches to equipment from the Danka portfolio. ShareScan connectors provide native integration capabilities to more than 20 enterprise applications distributed by Danka, including EMC Documentum Enterprise Content Management Platform, Captaris RightFax, Microsoft Outlook, and ColumbiaSoft. During Danka’s tenure working with eCopy, Danka system engineers have developed a portfolio of custom workflow applications using eCopy’s Quick Connect capability. The Open Platform Architecture enables Danka to immediately make these workflow applications available to customers across Danka’s line of digital copiers.   Danka has sold eCopy technology for Canon digital copiers to thousands of customer accounts. “Over the last several years, Danka has invested in training its sales, professional services, and technical support groups on eCopy products,” said Edward Schmid, eCopy president and CEO. “With our new Open Platform Architecture, Danka is poised to hit the ground running with eCopy on Canon, HP, and Toshiba digital copiers.”
