Easily Convert Between File Formats and Color Standards with Latest MATCHFLOW Composer

NORWALK, Conn., USA, May 17, 2005— Enhancements to KODAK POLYCHROME GRAPHICS (KPG) MATCHFLOW Composer software enable flexible, automated file converting and color management in a single application. MATCHFLOW Composer v4.6 increases production efficiency and print quality by maintaining color integrity during the conversion of standard prepress file formats across different workflows and color standards. Files can be seamlessly converted between combinations of various industry, geographic and press color standards, such as SWOP, SNAP and GRACOL, Euro or Japan to U.S., and lithography to gravure. “By providing whatever output conditions a job requires through a one-step process, MATCHFLOW Composer helps customers save time, reduce risk of errors and remakes, and lower costs,” said Eric Froeming, Product Manager, KPG. “New color management features let users take control of color processes and ensure greater quality under a variety of file and production conditions.” MATCHFLOW Composer is used worldwide for the conversion of such industry standard prepress file formats as POSTSCRIPT, PDF, PDF/X-1a or PDF/X-3, SCITEX Native, HANDSHAKE CT & LW, and TIFF/IT-P1 into any standard file format, with secured content, to output on all types of devices, such as high-resolution imagesetters, color proofers and CtP equipment. MATCHFLOW Composer also delivers data for gravure applications, and performs extremely fast anti-aliasing of linework for output to proofers and color printers with high quality small text, thin lines and close-cut masks. MATCHFLOW Composer’s new color management option includes KPG’s Color Fidelity Module and standard CMYK profiles for regional printing conditions. The Color Fidelity Module operates within Apple’s COLORSYNC color management system and offers key graphic arts controls such as maintaining the black channel, dynamically computing undercolor removal and gray component replacement, and retaining inking solids and overprints.
