Weger GmbH prints over 500 sq m a day with VUTEk PressVu UV’s
Press release from the issuing company
Weger GmbH of Huckeswagen, Germany, is using its new VUTEk PressVu UV 200/600 to help maintain the development of the company and provide new levels of customer service through increased speed of job delivery and high quality print. By coupling its new two-meter machine with its existing PressVu UV 180/600, Weger is meeting the heightened demand for its high quality print production and first class customer service. It produces over 500 sq m a day on a variety of substrates for blue chip customers including the German DIY and ‘home centre’ specialist, OBI.
Heinz Weger, Managing Director comments, ‘The installation of our original PressVu UV 180/600 rigid and flexible printer was a big step forward for our business, opening up a world of new possibilities for customers. With the addition of the new VUTEk PressVu UV 200/600, we are produce well over 500 sq m a day without compromising print quality.’
A recent example of this is Weger’s printing of all promotional materials for the launch of the new corporate identity and advertising campaign, for OBI. Producing a variety of PVC banners, ranging in size from 8m x 1m to 3m x 1m for reception areas and outside walls, Weger printed and installed graphics in more than 500 OBI franchise stores across Germany, Hungary, Poland, Austria, Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Heinz comments, ‘We have enjoyed a very healthy relationship with OBI, one of our largest and oldest customers, for nearly 15 years. They understand the capabilities of our VUTEk flatbed printer and appreciate the service we provide and our knowledge of the market. This enables us to accurately reflect its company ethos and maximize all promotional opportunities.
‘Initially, we produced all the banners and promotional materials for a one off test store, designed to gauge customer and market reactions to the new campaign. OBI was extremely happy with our work and the success of the new store decoration. As a result, they then decided to rollout the campaign and corporate identity across all of its European stores.’
Following the increase in its print capacity, another benefit to Weger is its increased ability to take on more work for new clients, while continuing to fulfill its existing customer commitments. This is made easier by the VUTEk printers’ ability to exactly match color profiles on its two PressVu UV printers, providing complete consistency from machine to machine.
Heinz comments, ‘Big jobs such as the OBI graphics, often mean that we need to utilize the 600 dpi capabilities of both PressVu UV printers to meet tight deadlines. VUTEk’s precise profiling means we can proof on one printer, while continuing production on the other with the confidence that customers will consistently enjoy vibrant, sharp and accurate color reproduction.’
Weger GmbH was established 15 years ago and currently employs 50 people between its production facility in Huckeswagen and its Viersen screenprinting facility. With both in-house design and installation teams, Weger is able to work on projects from start to finish. Its high quality output, and ability to offer clients fast turnarounds, has enabled it to produce banners, exhibition graphics, vehicle livery, point of sale and flags for a range of international building companies, local businesses, Bundesliga Football Clubs and various leading European advertising agencies.
Heinz concludes, ‘We believe that our PressVu UV 200/600 is further indication of our desire to offer customers the latest technologies, highest quality of print and the very best possible service. The installation of our latest VUTEk printer means we are better able to anticipate the needs of our customers, and provide innovative solutions to any requests that they may have.’
