Oce VarioPrint 2110 System Now Seamlessly Prints DigiPath Jobs

Press release from the issuing company

PHILADELPHIA, May 17 -- Oce, a global leader in digital document management and delivery solutions, today announced Release 2.1 for the popular Oce VarioPrint 2110 digital printer/copier/scanner. The latest release increases the system's capabilities for expanded media options and accelerated document workflow. Oce PRISMAproduction(TM) DP software is also now available for the Oce VarioPrint 2110 and 2100 systems to enable better workflow management and give print operations a seamless alternative to current Xerox DigiPath(TM)- driven devices. With Release 2.1, the Oce VarioPrint 2110 provides custom and oversize media support for up to 12"x 18" size paper, enabling output of tabloid jobs incorporating full bleed. Dual paper tray support brings the system's input paper capacity to a robust 10,200 sheets. This expanded input capacity coupled with the ability to load paper while the system is running virtually eliminates downtime to replenish paper. Dual trays are customer interchangeable with standard trays, providing flexibility to run a wide range of applications. Streaming PostScript/PCL is an additional print mode, which allows the system to efficiently handle documents with large numbers of pages. This technology enables simultaneous print spooling, ripping and printing of the same multi-page document. Seamless Compatibility with DigiPath Workflow Oce PRISMAproduction DP automatically converts Xerox DigiPath proprietary job tickets, so users can easily accept and run jobs prepared using the DigiPath format for greater flexibility and efficiency in their mixed environments or for an easy transition to Oce equipment from older systems without modification to existing applications. "Since its introduction in the summer of 2004, the Oce VarioPrint 2110 has achieved remarkable success in a variety of markets, including education, government, insurance and commercial printing. With Release 2.1, the versatile system becomes an even more powerful alternative for users needing greater performance and flexibility from one system," said Joyce Virnich, Vice President of Marketing for Oce Digital Document Systems. "With more paper handling, throughput flexibility, and enhanced data stream processing via Oce PRISMA, the system's functionality is virtually unmatched by anything else in this class." The Oce VarioPrint 2110 Digital Solution The Oce VarioPrint 2110 is designed specifically for corporate and commercial document production environments with monthly print volumes between 250,000 and 1 million prints, and the latest release reinforces the system's strong position in these markets. The 105-ppm printer/copier/scanner brings scalable speed and customizable functionality to production environments needing versatility and reliable performance. Oce Copy Press(TM) technology ensures the highest quality image across every page in a run. Users in these markets benefit from the ability to drive more work through one multifunctional machine for greater return on investment. With that in mind, the Oce VarioPrint 2110 can handle both the simplest and the most complex applications, including long runs, multiple small jobs, and proofs on a variety of media types. Even complex documents requiring tabs, mixed stock, color inserts and variable data printing can be processed efficiently within one print workflow. The system maintains its throughput speed in both simplex and duplex mode regardless of media, and the introduction of Adobe PostScript/PCL streaming in Release 2.1 contributes to faster processing of large multi-page documents. Finishing equipment for online booklet making, high capacity stacking, and cover binding can be simply integrated via the system's industry-standard finishing interface. Standard features such as interposing, front loading and load-while-run paper trays, automatic tray switching and now dual paper trays enable unattended printing for greater productivity and fewer interruptions in busy production environments. A flexible job factory print queue allows users to view, prioritize and delete production jobs. Each paper tray incorporates an advanced air-separation vacuum feed system providing highly reliable paper feeding on a wide range of media types. The Oce VarioPrint 2110 Release 2.1 is now available worldwide. To make it easier for customers to gain the newly available capabilities, field installed Oce VarioPrint 2110 systems can be easily upgraded to take advantage of enhanced Release 2.1 functionality and Oce PRISMAproduction DP.
