Dallas (NEXPO) - March 21, 2005 - Quark Inc. today announced the forthcoming release of its publishing workflow software, Quark Publishing System (QPS) 3.5. Feature-packed and flexible, QPS 3.5 includes customer-recommended updates and workflow tools to better enhance the production process and keep users on the cutting edge of technological advancements. “Quark is transforming creative communications with an open approach to collaboration, the flexibility of our licensing, and a customer-driven roadmap in our development,” said Jürgen Kurz, senior vice president of product development. “I trust our customers will be pleased that a landmark application like QPS can still expand their creativity and productivity.” Expanded Support for newest technologies Quark Publishing System, used by more than 50,000 people at publishing sites worldwide, is the industry-leading software for professional publishing and editorial workflows. QPS 3.5, the forthcoming release, integrates seamlessly with QuarkXPress 6 software, which includes such functionality as projects, synchronized text, high-resolution preview, PDF export, multiple undo, enhanced tables, and layers. QPS 3.5 augments some of these features and incorporates additional enhancements that take our customers further in increasing productivity, saving time, and making the most of the latest technologies. Additionally, QPS Classic 3.5 features: --Redlining capabilities for tracking edits to provide a clear record of any and all changes --QuarkConnect for tracking and managing applications and files from a variety of industry-standard applications such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Photoshop --AppleScript support for automating everything from common functions to complex database publishing, as well as support of Mac OS X server and Mac XServe --Improved notes, which enable the assignment of specific colors to each QPS user for better usability and visibility of the commenting functions within workgroups --Support for Quark License Administrator 3.5, including multiple administrator log-on capability, temporary licenses for remote users, and remote renewal of extended checked-out licenses Availability QPS customers with current Quark maintenance agreements will receive the upgrade at no charge.
