Day Introduces Pantheon Optima

Press release from the issuing company

DAYTON, OHIO (21 March 2005) Day International, a leading manufacturer of pressroom consumables announced the introduction of Pantheon Optima. This one-step, alcohol-free fountain solution for sheetfed printing with continuous dampening systems will be marketed under the Varn brand. Varn's Pantheon Optima has demonstrated exceptional performance and latitude in extensive field test under a wide variety of conditions. Jeff Pieper, Business Director for Day's Chemical Products Division, says, "The proprietary technology of Pantheon Optima offers performance advantages that helps printers improve productivity and reduce costs, while at the same time maintain optimum print quality. It's another Varn innovation that helps printers achieve the increased efficiency required in today's competitive environment." Pantheon Optima provides greater latitude for ink/water balance, better ink lay-down, reduced waste in start-ups and restarts and reduced color variation. Plus, Pieper adds, "The product performs exceptionally well on CtP plates and is compatible with UV, hybrid and conventional inks." Indicative of Pantheon Optima's unique chemical technology, the press-ready solution tends to have a higher conductivity than standard fountain solutions. Whereas some users would typically be concerned with an elevated conductivity reading, Pantheon Optima's formulation yields a higher conductivity at the recommended dosage. Pantheon Optima offers users the opportunity to reduce costs and increase profits. The new technology is the latest Day product innovation that creates more value for the printer.
