Agfa Demonstrates Complete Prepress and Workflow Solutions at Imprexpo 2005

Guadalajara, Jal. Mexico – Imprexpo (Booths 1326 & 1425) – April 2, 2005 – Agfa will be showing a variety of CtP systems, workflow solutions, and consumables for printing, packaging and publishing at its booths at Imprexpo International, April 2nd-5th 2005. Additionally, Agfa will provide in-depth knowledge of its technologies by hosting live presentations and hands-on demonstrations throughout the show. In the commercial printing area, Agfa will focus on its digital workflow and CtP solutions, aimed at helping printers achieve maximum productivity. Visitors will get hands-on demonstrations of the advanced :Apogee X workflow management system, which coordinates, directs and monitors tasks throughout production. They will also encounter the :Acento 4-up thermal CtP system, being shown for the first time in the region, as it images Agfa’s :Azura chemistry-free plate. :Azura, which is rapidly gaining industry attention as worlds first chemistry-free solution, provides users with fewer processing parameters and more predictability on press. For newspaper publishers, Agfa will demonstrate its coveted violet-laser CtP solutions that help control costs by increasing throughput, and decreasing system maintenance. Video and live presentations will demonstrate the simple but powerful :Advantage DL, and the incredibly fast :Polaris X being controlled by the newspaper-specific :Arkitex workflow system. :Arkitex brings enhanced efficiency and automation to the entire newspaper workflow, by expediting tasks and providing complete page tracking and control. Agfa’s :IntelliTune software, which helps publishers perfect images automatically, will also be demonstrated. Label and specialty packaging printers can attend a presentation featuring Agfa’s single-pass digital press, :Dotrix. :Dotrix provides a complete printing solution in one system, from the front-end all the way through to finishing, at 907 m2 per hour. Its versatility allows it to print on a variety of substrates including paperboard, plastics and specialty media. Flexo packaging visitors interested in increasing print quality, will want to see the :AquaFLASH plate system in action. Currently available in the North American market, :AquaFLASH uses a simple water-wash processing system to deliver high-resolution results. They will also take notice of the all-encompassing screening solution, :Sublima XM, which provides a cost-effective means for quality-enhancement to flexo packaging workflows. :Sublima is sure to attract visitors from commercial, packaging and newspaper environments. It’s unique, quality-enhancing technology increases line screen, and dramatically improves image colour vibrancy and clarity.
