The Principal Financial Group Selects Exstream's Dialogue Software

Press release from the issuing company

Exstream Software, Inc. announced today the Principal Financial Group (The Principal) has selected its Dialogue software as the infrastructure for creation and delivery of customer communications. The Principal, the nation’s 401(k) leader and a total retirement solutions innovator, selected Dialogue for its ability to customize customer communications, from simple personalized correspondence applications to interactive web systems that generate personalized documents and web pages on demand. Using Dialogue, The Principal is able to enhance the personalization and consistency of its customer communications, streamline document production processes and reduce costs. A key driver in the selection of Dialogue was its integrated web application development environment, WebVerse. Using WebVerse, The Principal developed an interactive system to create customized finalist presentations over the Internet. The web system is making it easier for The Principal’s field offices to produce presentations, dramatically speeding time to market for the custom-built proposals, reducing print and warehousing costs by 50 percent and cutting manual labor expense significantly. “We selected Dialogue because it is the premier solution for providing a single comprehensive platform to produce a variety of personalized customer communications,” said Ed Hunt, IT application analyst senior, The Principal Financial Group. “It gives us the ability to have an interactive sales and marketing system that is being used successfully by our field offices, saving significant time and money. The biggest benefit, however, is that no matter what type of communication we develop, we can position it in a consistent way, keeping the same look and feel on all documents we produce.” In the future, the Retirement and Investor Services division of The Principal plans to use Dialogue’s sophisticated campaign management capabilities to dynamically insert rule-driven, targeted marketing messages into documents, and send follow up messages depending on customer response. It also plans to use the Dialogue platform to provide a 360-degree view of customer content so customer relationships can be improved. “The Principal Financial Group is using Dialogue as it was designed—a comprehensive infrastructure that allows companies to standardize and personalize all of their customer communications,” said Davis Marksbury, president and CEO of Exstream Software. “We are excited to see Dialogue being used as it was intended by such an innovative organization as the Principal Financial Group.”
