SAN JOSE, Calif.--March 14, 2005-- Adobe Systems Incorporated today announced that it will host the Ideas Conference, a day-long event aimed at creative professionals and educators working in design, advertising, publishing and professional photography. Taking place at Grand Hyatt New York on April 4, the event will include presentations and panels that involve design industry luminaries and major brands. The conference will open with a keynote presentation from Adobe CEO Bruce Chizen and Adobe president and chief operating officer Shantanu Narayen. "Adobe's customers change the way the world looks every day, through their innovative work in design, advertising, publishing and photography," said Shantanu Narayen, president and chief operating officer at Adobe. "The design and publishing world is changing at a rapid pace and The Ideas Conference pulls creatives together and allows them to share experiences and learn from their peers across the creative disciplines." Participating companies and organizations include AIGA, Chopping Block, Columbia Sportswear, F+W Publications, Gawker Media, Google, Landor Design, Medium Footwear, MTV Networks, Pentagram Design, Tomato and Showtime. "For the past two decades, Adobe has been one of the great and positive influences on design," said Richard Grefe, executive director at AIGA. The Ideas Conference is split into two tracks: New Thinking and Adobe Live. The New Thinking track will include sessions on brand building, how design technology is affecting brands, digital asset management and collaboration, digital photography and its impact on the design process, and how Variable Data Publishing (VDP) is allowing brands to infiltrate niche markets. Adobe will demonstrate emerging design, publishing and digital imaging technology -- including the latest advances in content authoring for mobile platforms.
