Belk Printing Technologies Expands Capabilities With New Mitsubishi Press
Press release from the issuing company
PINEVILLE, N.C. — Belk Printing Technologies, a high-quality sheetfed printer, installed its third Mitsubishi press. The Diamond 3000S began production at Belk in mid-February 2005. This makes the company's second six-color press.
According to Chris Reynolds, vice president of manufacturing, two key factors played a part in Belk's decision to purchase another Mitsubishi press.
"We've always maintained a good working relationship with Mitsubishi," Reynolds explained. "Plus, the print quality of the 3000S is good. We print 15-micron stochastic dots. It's very difficult to maintain the quality of a dot that small, and the Mitsubishi product does this as good or better than any press around."
The 40-inch Diamond 3000S gives printers a distinct competitive advantage. The press provides the flexibility to fulfill an array of projects. At Belk, the press will be used to produce jobs for the financial, corporate, ad agency and retail sectors of the market.
The Diamond 3000S is a member of Mitsubishi's Diamond Series of sheetfed presses, which are available in 28-inch through 56-inch formats in configurations up to 12 colors. Fast job makeready, ease of operation and high throughput characterize the entire line of Diamond Series presses.
Mitsubishi is at the forefront of the implementation of the Job Definition Format specification, permitting the Diamond Series presses to afford zero makeready, decreased waste, accelerated job changeover, added value and increased competitiveness.
