Capitol Color Mail Names Quad/Graphics Vendor of the Decade

Press release from the issuing company

February 14, 2005 -- Being named vendor of the year by one of our clients is an outstanding feat. Providing clients with 365 days of high-class service is a remarkable accomplishment. Now multiply that by 10. For the past decade, Quad’s relationship with Capitol Color Mail has grown and developed in such ways that in December 2004, the direct marketer named Quad its vendor of the decade. "Quad/Graphics always has gone beyond the call of service," said Shaun Boylan, President and Owner of Capitol Color Mail. "Quad does what it is paid to do and then some. Not all vendors do that." Jeff Lovelace, National Sales Manager for Capitol Color Mail’s Value Pages division, echoes Mr. Boylan’s words. "Quad has been able to handle everything we give to them," he said. For example, in 2004 we printed more than 112 million pieces for Capitol Color Mail. Much of that work had 300 different versions. "Quad has the ability to jump through hoops to make things happen," said Mr. Lovelace. Said Quad/Graphics President & COO Joel Quadracci: "My father [Company Founder Harry Quadracci] used to say, ‘Never do business with people you don’t like.’ We’ve been able to foster our relationship with Capitol Color Mail because we’ve been able to grow together over the past 12 years and know each other on a personal level, not just a vendor-client relationship. We appreciate the trust Capitol Color Mail has in our business and are honored that they chose Quad/Graphics for this prestigious award." Vendor of the Decade Process Last year Capitol Color Mail decided that it was time to recognize its vendors. "We’ve been doing business for awhile and came to the decision that we have great vendor relationships and it would be nice to recognize that," Mr. Lovelace said. A five-member management staff team (which included Mr. Boylan and Mr. Lovelace) voted on a list of nominees, and then the sales staff was asked to comment on who they think should be named vendor of the decade and why. "The decision was easy," Mr. Boylan said. "Quad/Graphics knows no boundaries in helping its clients and consistently goes above and beyond what a vendor should do. We have great relationships with the three other finalists for this award, but none compares to that of Quad."
