FUJIFILM Debuts Chem-Free Violet Plate at NEXPO

Press release from the issuing company

VALHALLA, N.Y. (April 12, 2008) – FUJIFILM Graphic Systems U.S.A., Inc. will debut the Ecomaxx-V chemistry-free violet CTP plate, to the U.S. market at NEXPO 2008, where it will be running live. This new plate brings the benefits of high-quality, chemistry-free plate production to users of violet CTP systems and is suitable for virtually any newspaper publisher – from small to large applications.

The new Ecomaxx-V plate joins the Fujifilm family of Brillia High Definition plates, is rated for runs of up to 200,000 impressions and is compatible with the violet platesetters available on the market today. Based on a new high sensitivity polymerization technology, Ecomaxx-V offers printers a number of benefits, including:
    • Simple, environmentally friendly processing
    • Less effluent
    • Smaller footprint
    • No pH control required during processing
    • Easier maintenance of finishing unit

"This new plate is a broad market product and is suitable for newspaper publishers of all sizes, from those running two-page CTP units to those running more than 300 plates per hour on a large Krause device," explains Jim Crawford, Fujifilm's group manager for consumables. "There are fewer processing steps with this plate, saving time that's critical to every publisher."

Fujifilm's Ecomaxx-V plate will be running live on the Krause LS Jet during NEXPO 2008 and is targeted for controlled sales in Q1 2009 and commercial availability later in Q1 2009.

Thanks to an unprecedented investment in plate R&D and manufacturing, Fujifilm is now able to offer the most complete, high quality, environmentally friendly range of CTP plate products in the industry. In line with Fujifilm's long-term strategy of offering choice, the Brillia HD range of CTP plates comprises both violet and thermal versions, with chemistry-free and processless derivatives.

It is the only range on the market that's capable of delivering consistently high quality, irrespective of the plate being used. Backed up by a worldwide support infrastructure and plate manufacturing capability, Fujifilm has developed a platform to build upon its position as the top supplier in the market.
