Fabio Perini North America files lawsuit against Chan Li Machinery

Green Bay, Wisconsin; December 20, 2004 — Fabio Perini North America Inc. a subsidiary of Fabio Perini S.p.A., which is a worldwide leader in the production of tissue converting machinery, announced today that it has filed a lawsuit in the Federal District Court in Long Island, New York against Chan Li Machinery Co., Ltd. The complaint seeks a judgment that the tissue converting machinery that Chan Li of Taiwan has imported into the United States, infringes Fabio Perini S.p.A. patents. The complaint further charges Chan Li with copying Fabio Perini proprietary technology, unfair competition, and willful patent infringement.
Michael Drage, Fabio Perini North America's President, commented, "Fabio Perini has invested heavily in the development of its tissue converting machinery technology and has taken the appropriate steps today to protect its intellectual property. We are prepared to protect that investment. We cannot tolerate the copying of our machinery by any competitor."
