EFI Colorproof XF Attains SWOP Certification for Precision Color Proofing
Press release from the issuing company
FOSTER CITY, Calif.--Dec. 15, 2004--EFI, the world leader in digital imaging and print management solutions for commercial and enterprise printing, today announced that its Proofing Solutions with Best(TM) Technology, including the scalable, versatile new client/server based Colorproof(TM) XF platform, as well as EFI Designer Edition(TM) and Photo Edition(TM), have earned the publishing industry's demanding SWOP proofing certification. EFI is the first -- and only RIP -- provider to achieve SWOP certification on both the EPSON 4000 and HP 130 -- two of the highest quality output devices on the market.
SWOP, Inc. (Specifications for Web Offset Publications) is a non-profit organization that recommends specifications for the use of all those involved in the production of publications, including advertisers, publishers, printers, advertising agencies and pre-press service suppliers. EFI proofing solutions were tested for their ability to control color inkjet output and produce proofs as close as possible to the appearance of a SWOP Certified Press Proof. EFI Colorproof XF (which now incorporates EFI Screenproof(TM) software), Designer Edition and Photo Edition each simulated a SWOP Press Proof in conjunction with the Canon W8200, Epson 4000 and HP 30n and 130n large format devices.
"Achieving the highest quality output is of paramount importance to printers and this SWOP certification underscores that our solutions consistently deliver to these exacting standards. In addition to ensuring predictability, our newest Colorproof XF platform removes complexity from the proofing process by joining functionality with a cohesive workflow. We are thrilled to deliver these industry leading, SWOP-certified solutions and allow customers to create quality, color accurate proofs easily, and cost-effectively," said Ghilad Dziesietnik, Vice President, Professional Print Workflow and Technology, EFI.
EFI solutions met the demanding expectations of the SWOP committee by successfully hitting precision color targets. Certification was achieved with EFI proofing software on the Canon W8200 using Canon Commercial Proofing Media, on the Epson Stylus Pro 4000 using EFI Gravure Proof Paper, and on the HP 130n with EFI Remoteproof Paper and HP Proofing Semi Gloss Paper. Each combination was proven to create a powerful and flexible digital proofing system for delivering superior quality output at an economical price.
EFI Colorproof XF, EFI Designer Edition and EFI Photo Edition are available today from certified EFI dealer and distributor partners worldwide.
