Suttle-Straus is First to Deploy EFI's New MIS Logistics Solution for Fulfillment Optimization
Press release from the issuing company
FOSTER CITY, Calif. – December 14, 2004 –Suttle-Straus, Inc., one of the Midwest's premier providers of communication solutions and a long-time EFI Hagen OA management system user, is the first EFI customer planning to implement a new logistics solution to optimize the management and profit potential of finished goods, fulfillment and warehousing services for their end-customers. The solution is provided through a collaboration between EFI and Manhattan Associates (Nasdaq: MANH), the global leader in supply chain execution (SCE) and optimization solutions, to provide logistics tools for EFI’s print MIS customers.
“Our business strategy includes full service warehouse offerings as a differentiating capability that ensures excellent service for our clients while increasing our bottom-line,” said Ted Straus, vice president of operations and technology for Suttle-Straus. The company specializes in corporate communications, direct mail, advertising materials, and multi color printing. Services provided include one through six-color sheetfed and web printing, variable data digital imaging, mailing, web linked ordering and distribution services for customers in the centralWisconsinandChicagomarkets.
Suttle-Straus decided to implement a warehousing solution because their clients wanted them to store printed materials and make them available on the Internet for ordering through their distribution channels. Once integrated with EFI's MIS solutions, job information will flawlessly transfer to the Manhattan Associates Warehouse Management solution, which will then handle the picking, shipping and freight management functions.
“We recently outgrew our old system and decided to replace it with Manhattan Associates because it’s an outstanding enterprise level Warehouse Management solution with an attractive price point compared to other offerings,” continued Straus. “Manhattan Associates will provide a faster, more efficient flow for our fulfillment products, enabling us to manage our Internet-enabled ordering system and thousands of SKU items in our warehouse. And the ability to integrate Manhattan Associates with our Hagen OA and PrinterSite Fulfillment in the near future means that job information will seamlessly flow between the systems.”
According toMarc Olin, VP/GM of Commercial Print Systems at EFI, “Suttle-Straus has been on the forefront of using management technology systems to improve efficiency and profitability across their business, so it’s no surprise they are our first MIS customer to implement the Manhattan Associates Warehouse Management solution. We’re confident that Suttle-Straus will streamline their operations in ways that increase fill rates, improve the bottom line and decrease overall logistics costs."
