Press release from the issuing company
VALLEY FORGE, Pa.--Dec. 14, 2004--Honoring its commitment to employee development and service excellence, IKON Office Solutions, the world's largest independent channel for document management systems and services, today announced that it has received two Corporate University Best In Class (CUBIC) Awards for its nationally recognized learning organization, IKON University.
Presented at Corporate University Week 2004 by HRevents, a division of the International Quality and Productivity Center (IQPC), IKON University was named Best Mature Corporate University. The award, which examines corporate learning organizations that have been in existence for more than five years, evaluated how established corporate universities respond to meeting new organizational goals and how these corporate universities align with changing business requirements.
In addition, IKON University received second place in the Best Overall Corporate University category, which evaluates learning organizations' contributions to the overall success of the companies they support and how corporate universities deliver training, as well as the enculturation of learning throughout the company.
"We are honored to receive these two prestigious awards for our corporate learning initiatives," said Beth Sexton, Senior Vice President of Human Resources for IKON. "By offering our employees the opportunity to constantly increase their knowledge and sharpen their skills, IKON University helps to ensure the success of our people through programs that are aligned with our business goals and customer requirements."
The CUBIC Awards were established to honor, recognize and promote corporate universities that are true best practices. To identify these leading training organizations and individuals, IQPC enlisted a prestigious list of corporate university experts and leaders to accurately and objectively evaluate the true effectiveness of world-class corporate universities and set the standards of excellence for all training organizations.
IKON's nationally recognized learning organization, IKON University, provides continuous career development for approximately 29,000 IKON employees throughout North America and Europe. IKON University offers self-study, web-based, and instructor-led courses that provide training across all functions within IKON.
