BALTIMORE, Md. (March 7, 2005) – Vertis, Inc., the premier provider of targeted advertising, media, and marketing services, today announced that Gary Sutula has joined Vertis as chief information officer.

Sutula has extensive experience managing large-scale IT projects and initiatives. In his previous positions he led the development of systems that both improved internal efficiencies and created new business opportunities by improving the products and services offered to customers.
Prior to joining Vertis, Sutula most recently helped build gLimit, a start-up company, and worked as a strategic consultant for Electrolux. He served as chief information officer at R.R. Donnelley for five years, where he led the development of the company’s first information technology strategic plan. In addition, Sutula held CIO positions at American Savings Bank and Transamerica Financial Services and senior management positions at First Interstate Bank.
