PC Mailing Systems Installs 3 Kodak Versamark DS4350 UV Printing Systems

Press release from the issuing company

DAYTON, Ohio, March 11, 2005 - Kodak Versamark, Inc., a part of Kodak's Graphic Communications Group, today announced PC Mailing Services, Inc. of San Antonio, Texas has purchased two DS4350 printing systems for its San Antonio facility and one DS4350 unit for its new Austin, Texas facility. The DS4350 UV printing system is the latest addition to the KODAK VERSAMARK D-Series Printing Systems. The DS4350 is a rugged, easy-to-use, inkjet printing system bundled with a UV curing ink station for reliable, high-resolution printing on a variety of substrates, including glossy stocks, aqueous and UV coated papers, plastic cards, and films. "The new KODAK VERSAMARK DS4350 printing system is technology we have anxiously awaited for. The ability to print at speeds in the 20,000 pages per hour range on any of the coating used today without smearing has greatly improved our quality and production times. In the end, these systems allowed us to create more hours in a day," said Charlie Cain, president, PC Mailing Services Inc. "We also have been pleased with the exceptional service and support we received from Kodak Versamark as we installed the new DS4350 in two locations." The DS4350 provides a wide 2.58 inches (6.55cm) of print coverage in a single printhead, with print speeds of up to 330 feet per minute (fpm) (100 meters per minute or mpm), and crisp character definition with print resolutions of up to 300 x 600 dpi. The DS4350 is available as a fully integrated system bundled with a printer, controller, transport and UV curing station and also as a turnkey system including feeder, feeder base and output conveyor - each providing a rich feature set required for maximum productivity and efficiency. "With the growing trend of printing direct mailing and fulfillment pieces on coated stocks, the ability of the DS4350 to print on multiple substrates makes it an effective printing solution for companies such as PC Mailing Services," said Ron Gilboa, vice president of marketing, Kodak Versamark. "The DS4350 is also an ideal solution for packaging applications that involve printing on substrates such as plastic and paperboard folding cartons."
