Colourscan Installs KPG's Matchprint Virtual Proofing System
Press release from the issuing company
Norwalk, Connecticut, USA — To expedite approvals and save time for its customers during the various stages of color proofing, Colourscan recently installed the industry leading Kodak Polychrome Graphics (KPG) Matchprint Virtual Proofing System.
The Portland, Oregon, prepress services provider also turns to remote monitor proofing for online collaboration throughout the production process with one of its largest customers. Colourscan placed a Matchprint Virtual Proofing system viewing station in the Seattle office of a global advertising agency. Previously, hard copy proofs had to be delivered to that location by a sales representative who drove three hours each way or via overnight shipping.
“The Matchprint Virtual Proofing system has allowed us to create an integrated digital workflow that is both dynamic and simple,” said Tom Donaldson, President, Colourscan. “We’ve increased our productivity, minimized spoilage, and saved our customers time and money, without sacrificing quality. From a revenue standpoint, we’ve expanded our opportunities for growth by eliminating geographic limitations when seeking new business.”
The Matchprint Virtual Proofing system can be used for content, imposition and color-critical proofing, predicting press results, checking for file integrity, routing jobs for all levels of approval and communicating print expectations. Customers can simultaneously view, annotate and mark up proofs online and automatically send e-mail notifications of project progress to team members.
“By streamlining the production and approval chains with the Matchprint Virtual Proofing system, Colourscan helps customers realize better time and cost efficiencies,” said Rob Pipe, Worldwide Director, Monitor and Remote Proofing, KPG. “The Matchprint Virtual Proofing system delivers the promise of color accurate monitor proofing to graphic arts providers of all types and sizes.”
KPG’s latest monitor proofing solutions include the Kodak Polychrome Graphics Matchprint Virtual Proofing System - LCD, which combines the convenience of the RealTimeProof technology with the color and accuracy of the KPG Matchprint Virtual Proofing technology. Utilizing high end flat panel displays, the Matchprint Virtual Proofing System - LCD simplifies installation requirements and enables personal proofing. The system consists of a Matchprint Virtual - LCD monitor, or another LCD monitor that is certified for use with the Matchprint Virtual Proofing System, Matchprint Virtual Proofing Monitor software, a Matchprint Virtual calibrator and the full suite of web based proofing tools.
In addition to the Matchprint Virtual Proofing system, Colourscan utilizes other KPG proofing solutions such as the Kodak Approval NX Digital Halftone Proofing System and the Matchprint Inkjet Proofing system.
