DENVER-November 19, 2004-Quark announced today the release of Quark License Administrator 3.3, the latest version of its license administration and management software. Compatible with QuarkXPress 6, Quark License Administrator 3.3 will now support multiple administrators on one server to simplify and streamline management and will allow for remote license checkouts so that freelancers and remote employees can access QuarkXPress licenses without needing to connect to a local network.
"Quark License Administrator has really grown according to the needs of our customers," said Zach Frison, QuarkXPress product manager. "So many of our clients work in various locations with multiple designers from in and out of house that we knew we needed to make Quark License Administrator even more flexible. With 3.3, we've jumped some organizational hurdles and empowered people to work wherever they are."
Quark License Administrator monitors requests for software licenses over your network. If a license is available, the request is fulfilled and a license is checked out, allowing the QuarkXPress application to launch on the user's computer. When users exit the QuarkXPress application, the license is checked back in and becomes available to someone else.
With Quark License Administrator 3.3, employees on the road whose QuarkXPress license is about to expire, or freelancers who need access to a license from elsewhere, can simply have the license sent to them in an e-mail message for quick activation off the network-it's easy and makes sense. Companies with QuarkXPress 5 and 6 can utilize the capabilities of the new software.
Quark License Administrator, a server-based application, simplifies the installation and maintenance of Quark software throughout a company. System administrators have complete control over when, where and how users access a Quark product, which makes Quark License Administrator ideal for large companies with multiple users. It adds speed, control, and cost efficiency to the administration of Quark software licenses.
Quark License Administrator is available at no charge for Quark customers with five or more QuarkXPress licenses. For more information, please visit www.quark.com/products/qla/.
