New VUTEK PressVu UV 180/600 EC used to print signage for KFC
Press release from the issuing company
Color Graphics, of Salt Lake City, USA, has used its VUTEk PressVu UV 180/600 EC to print graphics for fast-food giant KFC, installed nationwide. Utilizing the PressVu's flatbed and roll-to-roll capabilities, Color Graphics produced a total of 375 rigid and flexible signs for the chicken restaurant chain, the largest measuring 1.27 meters x 0.77 meters.
The KFC job included the production of point of sale material, drive through menus and window graphics. Guy Timothy, Vice President, Color Graphics comments, 'Producing signage for KFC meant we had to print onto a combination of flexible and rigid material. This gave us a great opportunity to utilize the abilities of our VUTEk PressVu UV.
'We printed onto rigid sheets of styrene for KFC's point of sale material, and then switched to low-tac self-adhesive vinyl for its window graphics. This saved us a lot of time and meant the job was hassle free.'
According to Guy, by utilizing the PressVu's superior print capabilities, Color Graphics was able to ensure color consistently and maintain brand integrity throughout the job.
Guy continues, 'We are exceptionally pleased with the PressVu UV, its eight-color feature enables us to match specific colors such as the KFC corporate red, while producing prints of the highest quality.
'We spent 18 months looking at all available flatbed printers, and have no doubt that the VUTEk PressVu UV 180/600 EC is the best machine on the market. Since installation, we have been very impressed by VUTEk's excellent service and support program.'
Color Graphics installed its VUTEk PressVu UV 180/600 EC in April 2004. Successfully marketing the benefits of its flatbed printer, it is now attracting new clients including retail outlets, restaurants and tradeshow exhibitors - all requiring rigid signage.
Established in 1993, Color Graphics employs 18 people. With clients based throughout the United States, Color Graphics has the ability to deliver a job from concept through to completion, utilizing its own design studio and installation services. As a division of reprographics company SBR Technologies, Color Graphics offers a wide range of digital printing facilities to a variety of customers.
Guy concludes, 'The quality of output from the PressVu UV is excellent. Its substrate flexibility enables us to be incredibly versatile and penetrate new markets, providing the perfect opportunity for success.'
