ROCHESTER, N.Y.--Nov. 1, 2004-- NexPress Solutions, Inc., a Kodak Company, today announced the completion of a transaction with Buhrmann Graphic Systems, a division of Buhrmann NV. As a result of the transaction, NexPress acquires certain assets of the Buhrmann digital sales and service business for the KODAK NEXPRESS 2100 digital production color presses and KODAK DIGIMASTER digital production systems. The agreement covers several key European countries, including Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Spain, and Italy. Effective October 29, Buhrmann sales and service personnel in these countries will become part of NexPress, reporting to Paul Willems, vice president, NexPress Solutions and regional general manager, Europe, Africa and Middle East region (EAMER). As previously announced, NexPress also has acquired certain inventories and other assets from Buhrmann, and has hired some of Buhrmann's highly qualified digital sales, service and support personnel. Buhrmann continues to sell and service KODAK DIGIMASTER systems in Greece and several other European cities. Financial terms are not being disclosed. "We are pleased to complete this agreement, which adds a highly skilled team from Buhrmann to expand NexPress' European market coverage," said Venkat Purushotham, president and CEO, NexPress Solutions, Inc. "Our customers should expect a seamless transition and continued strong support for their digital printing systems." The Buhrmann sales and service employees join the more than 300 sales and service personnel that were hired after Kodak acquired NexPress in April 2004.
