VANCOUVER, BC, CANADA -- October 28, 2004 -- Creo Inc. is pleased to announce that its ThermoFlex Sleeve Imaging device has been selected as the recipient of the 2004 FlexoTech Award for Innovation in Prepress. Announced at the FlexoTech International Print & Innovations Awards ceremony on October 20, the annual awards are judged by an international panel of leading flexo authorities from the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Finland, Denmark, Italy and Germany. The awards are acknowledged as one of the key European benchmarks for flexo print quality.
"We are extremely proud to receive this honor for the ThermoFlex," says Bob Dalton, product manager. "It recognizes Creo's continued investment in the technological growth of flexography, as well as our ongoing leadership in the packaging industry."
The ThermoFlex Sleeve Imaging Device...
The ThermoFlex Sleeve Imaging device allows flexographic printers to implement a digital plate-on-sleeve manufacturing process. The first complete ThermoFlex digital plate-on-sleeve solution was installed at Cyber Graphics in Memphis, Tennessee in September 2003. Cyber Graphics is the prepress division of Bryce Corporation, a successful flexible packaging converter serving several of the world's largest consumer product companies.
The Creo-designed solution provides Bryce Corporation and their customers with significant economic benefits both in prepress and the press room. It minimizes sleeve manufacturing costs and cycle times, while increasing flexibility to address the needs of different substrates. Cyber Graphics has produced and printed over 1,000 sleeves using the Creo ThermoFlex Sleeve Imaging device. This solution has set the standard for flexible packaging converters looking to take the next step in improving print quality and consistency, while at the same time reducing operating costs.

Stuart Fox, Creo packaging and marketing specialist, accepted the award on Creo's behalf on October 20, 2004 at the FlexoTech Awards dinner in London, UK.
