Press release from the issuing company

VANCOUVER, BC, CANADA -- October 27, 2004 -- Creo Inc. congratulates Creo digital printing customers who received 12 of the 26 annual Printing Innovation with Xerox Imaging (PIXI) Awards during Graph Expo 2004. The awards, including the best of show award to Impressions Numéricart of Quebec, Canada, were presented to Creo customers that use Spire(tm) color servers to drive their Xerox digital color presses, and the Darwin(tm) VI authoring tool to produce variable information (VI) documents. The PIXI Awards... The PIXI Awards program was created by Xerox to honor excellence and innovation in digital printing applications. It demonstrates new uses of technology and VI creation to help graphic arts professionals increase print volume, revenue, and communication effectiveness for their customers. Digital printers from Canada, Latin America, and the United States submitted digital printing jobs to the PIXI Awards, which were judged by a panel of industry experts representing key segments of the graphic arts industry. Each entry was evaluated on overall aesthetics, use of digital technology, business effectiveness, and degree of innovation. And, the Winners... All 12 winning entries used the Spire color server. It enables users to increase productivity and grow their business with superior quality color output, efficient processing, enhanced color management, and advanced variable data printing capabilities. Supporting all leading VI formats and authoring tools, the Spire color server's robust processing capabilities are essential for the production of complex VI jobs. Six of the winning entries also used the Creo Darwin VI authoring tool for the creation, design, authoring, and management of VI documents. Darwin's advanced VI features allow graphic arts professionals to develop full-color personalized documents for creating effective one-to-one marketing communications. Creo Quote... "These awards pay tribute to innovative printers who have created applications that not only push the boundaries of digital printing in terms of creativity, but also demonstrate how digital printers can successfully grow and diversify their businesses for increased profitability," said Gershon Alon, Creo director of marketing, Print On-Demand.
