"JDF Expert Certificate" Training Program announced
Press release from the issuing company
To meet growing educational needs driven by the emerging Job Definition Format (JDF) technology, CIP4 and IPA have announced a second round of “JDF Expert Certificate” training programs via LIVE on-line webinars and via archived Video 24/7 OnDemand access.
The program will consist of 13 sessions, beginning on October 27, 2004 and continuing approximately every two weeks concluding in April, 2005. Program content, registration details and pricing can be accessed at www.ipa.org/jdf. This second round of “JDF Expert Certificate” training represents the continued strong demand for printers to gain in-house expertise about JDF technology so they can make informed decisions when purchasing future process automation prepress, printing and finishing technology.
Over 40 companies registered for the first series of webinars with 12 JDF Expert Certificates being issued so far. Recent grad, Dave Ohlmacher from Standard Register reports, “This is the only program that provides the breadth and depth of topics that will enable us to successfully implement a JDF workflow.” (Pictures and interviews from program graduates are available to the media upon request.)
Companies who desire to cultivate this important in-house expertise can assign specific employees within their group as JDF Experts who will:
Better understand how process automation can meet their company's requirements,
Gain insight into strategies and methods that can be used to migrate to a JDF enabled environment
Learn how to read JDF and understand how print meta data flow throughout the
workflow and how the data flow can be leveraged to improve the process,
Be better prepared to evaluate new software, systems, and equipment.
After attending all training sessions, individual students must pass a final examination to achieve their personal “JDF Expert Certificate” and be permitted to professionally use the "JDF Expert" designation.
Content for the training program was developed by CIP4 Organization Technical Committee leaders and experts in 2004. All training sessions are provided via IPA’s LIVE webinar capabilities, allowing for instructor interaction and audience questions. OnDemand recordings of the basic instruction are also available for internet viewing 24/7. Attendees will have access to both LIVE and OnDemand sessions for those not able to attend the LIVE programs.
