Rastar Digital Marketing Purchases Two Xeikon 5000 Presses
Press release from the issuing company
Salt Lake City, Utah & Lier, Belgium, 30 September 2004 – Rastar Digital Marketing, a worldwide digital solutions marketing company providing customer marketing fulfillment, direct marketing catalogs and mailing programs targeted to Fortune 500 companies announces their purchase of two new Xeikon 5000 digital color presses.
Rastar Digital Marketing made its foray into digital printing in 1996 when it purchased a Xeikon digital press to initiate production of personalized product catalogs. With revenue growth exceeding 30 percent annually, Rastar has grown its digital business and has since added two wide format Xeikon digital presses. Its current production includes large format point-of-sale displays, banners, catalogs and direct marketing campaign materials. Xeikon’s web technology provides the personalization, immediate turnaround, and quality demanded by Rastar’s growing customer base.
With the Xeikon 5000, Rastar now adds the X-800 digital front-end capabilities along with the broader range of printing substrates, including 18pt paperboard, to help satisfy its customers’ growing needs for a wider range of products. The 5 over 5 color capabilities of the Xeikon 5000 press gives Rastar the ability to use white or specially formulated toners.
Kevin Despain, President of Rastar notes: “Xeikon has long been an important part of our digital print capability. Our appetite for faster and more capable digital equipment has been driven by the markets’ acceptance of our highly effective database marketing solutions. Automotive, retail banking, education, and the beverage industry are among the key verticals that we focus on to drive highly effective communications. These opportunities require significant quantities and a wide variety of digitally printed materials. These new Xeikon presses will add significant capacity and depth to our already impressive suite of digital print devices. We are thrilled with the quality of output produced by the 5000. This new level of quality coupled with the unique formats we can print will allow us to satisfy our most demanding customers.”
“Rastar is a prime example of a company that understands the digital color print model. They carefully develop their applications and then find the right technology fit, to most efficiently produce the print. We are happy to meet their requirements” says Ivan Verheye, President & CEO of Xeikon America, Inc.
