Polkadots Shows First JDF Enabled Post-RIP Imposition Workflow
Press release from the issuing company
Montreal, Canada – October 6, 2004 – Polkadots Software Inc., a leading prepress workflow developer, specializing in database driven workflow automation for Harlequin RIP technology, announces that it will be showing PrePage-it’s post-RIP imposition functionality with Rasterize-it v6.4 at GraphExpo. Rasterize-it, Polkadots’ own OEM version of Harlequin RIP, will accept JDF as input and works with any popular JDF enabled imposition software to control imposition.
“As workflow solution developers we have embraced JDF technology and are constantly looking for new ways to add value to our solutions through JDF.” Says Gilles Duhamel, Polkadots, “As a recent Harlequin OEM we have had the opportunity to take a closer look at all of the functionality provided us within the RIP. The first JDF feature we have implemented is to be able to accept JDF imposition data of PrePage-it files and have Rasterize-it process the job and perform the imposition on the fly.”
The PrePage-it Workflow Solution is a plug and play, database driven solution built upon Global Graphics’ Harlequin RIP technology. PrePage-it allows users to print from any popular Macintosh or Windows applications and RIP pages up-front, saving time and detecting potential problems early in the process. It includes a wealth of compression, automation, proofing, organization and imposition functionalities. PrePage-it will be demonstrated live at GraphExpo in Chicago from October 10 to 13 on the Polkadots booth #4437.
