Chromagene Chooses Full MIS Implementation Of DiMS!
Press release from the issuing company
Leeds, United Kingdom and Lichtenvoorde, the Netherlands – September 27, 2004 –Chromagene and DiMS! organizing print jointly announce that Chromagene, the UK’s finest Imaging House, will combine its premises under DiMS!’ completely integrated, enterprise-wide print management system.
In May, Chromagene’s management attended Drupa 2004 with the intent to purchase a new Accounting application to enable them to gain better insight into their production costs. However, DiMS!’ comprehensive MIS solution introduced Chromagene’s management team to a broad array of improvements that could only be achieved through an end-to-end system. “Seeing the DiMS! application was really an eye opener to me. Despite the fact that we are not a conventional printing company, gradually I detected more and more advantages of this fully integrated system in contrast to our current operating procedures,” said Gerry Hadfield, major shareholder and Managing Director, Chromagene. Rather than purchasing a single Financial system, Chromagene decided to take full advantage of this opportunity by replacing all its separate systems with a completely integrated MIS solution. “We believe that DiMS! will greatly increase our productivity by enabling us to process more orders with the same number of people.”
In addition to Accounting and Finance, Chromagene will implement DiMS!’ integrated system, including Order Management, Purchasing, Inventory, and Shipping modules, in both its print facility in Leeds and offices in London. Given its two separate locations, DiMS!’ web-enablement will afford Chromagene better insight into all business processes, leading to increased efficiency. “Just recently we moved from one to two locations, making it even more difficult to control all processes, both on a production and administrative level. DiMS! eliminates this challenge for us, as it not only steers our Finances, following our initial goal, but it also keeps track of the whole order flow – all on an enterprise-wide level,” said John Foster, Financial Director, Chromagene.
“We are absolutely delighted to have Chromagene as our newest UK customer. They are a very forward-thinking company and we look forward to helping them with their growth,” said Chris Wood, VP Sales & Marketing, DiMS! organizing print. “Their products are wonderful and we have used some at recent tradeshows with a very positive response,” Mr. Wood added.
