Nexpress Expands Digimaster E Series System Portfolio
Press release from the issuing company
ROCHESTER, N.Y., September 15, 2004 -- NexPress Solutions, Inc., a Kodak company, today announced it has added the new KODAK DIGIMASTER E125 digital production system to its growing portfolio of DIGIMASTER E series digital production systems. Like the current DIGIMASTER E series systems, the new press features a highly modular design for maximum flexibility, enhanced image quality, greater range of substrate weights, sizes and thicknesses, a truly open architecture for seamless workflow integration, and a paper path customers value for improved reliability over other systems.
The E series now includes the DIGIMASTER E150 digital production system, announced at drupa, which features a 150 impressions-per-minute (ipm) engine, as well as the new DIGIMASTER E125 print system, which delivers high-quality monochrome printing at 125 ipm. The new DIGIMASTER E125 system is ideal for customers who want the ability to do short-run, custom and variable data print jobs with a high-end digital black-and-white system at a lower initial investment.
"The DIGIMASTER E125 system gives customers the ability to match their printing system to the volume of their business at a fitting price point, while also providing them access to the outstanding quality, functionality and productivity of the E series," said Venkat Purushotham, president and CEO, NexPress Solutions, Inc. "With its combination of remarkable output quality, high workflow productivity and versatility, the E125 builds on the E series family of extremely productive, high-quality solutions for high-volume, black-and-white print production environments."
Available this month at an MSLP of $250,000, the DIGIMASTER E125 print system is a modular,125 ipm digital black-and-white press offering. The standard configuration of the E125 consists of the marking engine, which includes three paper drawers; a measured stitch finisher for stapling; the new V240 System Control Subsystem, a server-based controller that offers extremely fast processing speed and enables print providers to achieve higher productivity, more flexibility and increased reliability; as well as AP Print Production Software.
The DIGIMASTER E125 print system also delivers excellent image quality at 600x600 dpi, and employs a small-particle developer and enhanced technology to deliver high-quality documents. "Our technology enables the KODAK DIGIMASTER E series digital production systems to deliver sharper text, crisper halftones and richer graphics than most other offerings in the industry," Purushotham said.
About the KODAK DIGIMASTER E series digital production systems
The new KODAK DIGIMASTER E series digital production systems, which include the DIGIMASTER E150 and the DIGIMASTER E125 presses, provide customers with a productive, high-quality solution for high-volume, black-and-white print production that they can customize and integrate into their workflow to take advantage of an array of high-value print applications. The expansion of the E series to include a variety of speed and capability options, enables print providers to match their printing system to the volume of their business at an appropriate price point.
The DIGIMASTER E series systems also feature an optional roll-fed paper path and inline finishing options that dramatically reduce misfeeds and enable the printer to maintain the rated speed across a wide variety of documents with multiple paper stocks and subset finishing requirements.
The KODAK DIGIMASTER E series digital production systems also feature:
-- Extensive substrate flexibility that gives customers the ability to print at high speed on a wide range of paper sizes, weights and finishes, including heavy and glossy stocks.
-- Specialized commercial print configuration that includes digital image quality adjustment and enhanced paper handling to meet the demanding requirements of commercial printing.
-- MICR toner configuration, for printing of special fonts and characters for checks, rebates, coupons and other financial documents. The DIGIMASTER E series system is compliant with all leading international standards and exceeds industry specifications for MICR print quality and security.
-- The Digital Print Quality Adjust feature that enables operators to vary line width and solid area density to achieve the look they desire -- whether to match the output of competitive devices or to enhance the image's appearance. The adjustment is made in real time and post rasterization.
The E series systems utilize the latest DIGIMASTER operating software, AP Print Production Software Release 6.0, which includes specialized configuration options for MICR and commercial printing; improved paper handling; direct support of the ADOBE ACROBAT Software PDF 1.5 format for easy job set-up; expanded job-tracking capabilities; and remote management, including access to job manager, modify print monitor and system administration.
The software also provides additional paper catalog flexibility, including the ability to use paper definitions in jobs that are not in the System Paper Catalog, and increased paper catalog entries to 200.
NexPress offers extensive finishing accessories for the DIGIMASTER E series systems, including scanners, roll feeders, post-process inserter, booklet maker, perfect binder, hole puncher and stackers. NexPress also offers a wide variety of customizations for integration of some third-party accessories.
