Emeness Expands Creative Potential With 5-Color Kodak Nexpress 2100 Press
Press release from the issuing company
ROCHESTER, N.Y. and HEIDELBERG, Germany, September 13, 2004 - After a successful three-year period with their NEXPRESS 2100 4-color press, emeness Printers Ltd. in Hackney (UK) has recently installed a 5-color KODAK NEXPRESS 2100 press. The new press is already demonstrating extended capabilities for value-added service and higher impact communications, quality and cost-savings. emeness Printers Ltd. is the parent company of Clickonprint.com, which is dedicated to digital print.
The 5-color NEXPRESS 2100 press was easily installed and is a source of corporate pride at emeness Printers Ltd. "Three years ago we took our initial step into digital printing with the first NEXPRESS 2100 press installed in the UK," recounts Chris Farino, Production Director of Clickonprint.com. "When we went to drupa 2004 and saw the latest press with the fifth unit, we could see the technology had stepped up to another level. It was a definite `must have'."
"We had already gained so much business with the 4-color press that it was an easy decision," Farino said. "The installation went very well, as we know the press like an old friend. We built a dedicated space for the new 2100 and commissioned an architect to enclose it under a glass roof, so that it can be viewed from the reception area."
"Our key customers are high profile companies in various sectors, who will not take anything less than the highest quality results," asserts Farino. "The latest innovation from Kodak offers us endless possibilities to ensure that we can meet their needs and more."
Working with graphic design clients, emeness has been able to demonstrate combinations that offer amazing creative opportunities and wide color choices. "With the added capabilities of the fifth unit we are able to customize a client's specific color range," explains Farino. "Key customers require specific PANTONE colors for their branding. We have been amazed at how much we can expand the color gamut by using the fifth imaging unit. This allows us to better match a wide range of corporate-branded spot colors. We can also offer a matte finish using a clear toner. For example, we could not produce a sparkling orange like this using the litho process. Now we can say to the customer - `for this job we don't necessarily need to print litho. It is cheaper to print digitally with the NEXPRESS 2100 press and also obtain very high-quality results.'"
"Another important point is that our proofing capability has significantly risen to a new cost effective level," adds Farino. "One of the big advantages of proofing with the 2100 is that we can print on any litho substrate up to 300gsm. When the NEXPRESS 2100 press is calibrated to the litho press, it produces a near perfect representation of the final litho sheet with a very high color consistency. Because we also have in-house finishing equipment, we are able to provide our customers with fully finished, folded and stitched proofs. We are now offering our customers a proof that is identical to the final product. The customer can see and handle the exact end result. With just a telephone call, the job goes into production."
Noel Kavanagh, Managing Director of emeness Printers Ltd., comments: "The KODAK NEXPRESS 2100 press is easy to use and we are continually experimenting with new ideas to maximize its potential. It is ideal for proofing and printing multi-page books. The variable data capability gives us the opportunity to offer high quality short run mailings, posters and complex personalized leaflets."
Kavanagh describes how the press has enabled the firm to offer clients both creativity and enhanced services. "Technology has advanced, but changing demands from our clients have created a greater need for service and support," Kavanagh notes. "A strong working relationship with our clients enables us to provide proactive, constructive and efficient solutions from the start of a project. With the KODAK NEXPRESS 2100 press, we are able to offer our clients creative options which contribute added value and a strategic business edge."
The company also runs a 12-color HEIDELBERG SPEEDMASTER press as well as 2 x 6-color HEIDELBERG 102CD presses. emeness Printers Ltd. provides a complete commercial print and finishing service.
