Mortsel, Belgium – 27 August 2004 – Agfa announced its plans to showcase its large-format digital printing systems at the Viscom/ProSign (International Trade Fairs for Visual Advertising Techniques and Signmaking) to be held in Paris, France (15-17 September), Madrid, Spain, (7-9 October), Dusseldorf, Germany (21-23 October), Milan, Italy (4-6 November). Systems shown and demonstrated will include the top-of-the-range :Grand Sherpa Universal 87, a high-speed production machine for indoor and outdoor applications with output up to 40 sq.m./hour, as well as the :Grand Sherpa Universal 64. This mid-range machine has proved to be very popular owing to its balance of cost, speed and printing width. In addition, the Agfa booth will show the :Sherpa 44m poster printing system for indoor applications as well as the :Sherpa 24m with :SelectJet inkjet film for screen printing. Printed samples from the :Dotrix inkjet press will also be on display at the booth. “Last year’s shows signalled a successful entry into this market for Agfa and we have come a long way in just one year,” said Agfa’s director of the large-format digital printing business, David Preskett. ”In just one year, we have sold and installed over 200 machines in Europe alone.
