Winners included printers from Tampa, Orlando, Miami, and many other cities in Florida.
PAF Golf Classic
Over 150 people were in attendance for the power-packed weekend, which kicked-off with a four man scramble golf tournament at MetroWest Golf Classic, sponsored by graphic arts supply distributor xpedx.
Attendees tried their hand at Jacksonville-based sponsor Mac Papers’ popular Casino Night, where many walked away with prizes such as weekend getaways, Apple iPODs, and Callaway golf sets.
Florida Print Industry Summit
It was standing room only at the 2004 Florida Print Industry Summit, where Ronnie H. Davis, Ph.D., Chief Economist for Printing Industries of America (PIA), and Jeffrey Hayzlett, Hayzlett and Associates, gave comprehensive presentations covering the ways in which members can capitalize on new opportunities in the industry.
Davis examined statistical trends in the printing industry, and outlined where growth opportunities exist. He noted the changes in the numbers of printing plants, plant sizes, employment and sales both now and forecasted for the remainder of 2004 and 2005.
Hayzlett provided insight into the Print Council, a new business development alliance represented by leaders in the graphic arts industry. The goal of the Print Council is to influence and promote the greater use of print media. Founding members of the alliance include, but are not limited to: Agfa, Heidelberg, Presstek, Pitney Bowes, Kodak, International Paper and many others.
