Press release from the issuing company

HOD-HASHARON, ISRAEL, August 4, 2004 – Advanced Vision Technology Ltd (AVT) has been nominated for the Label Industry Award for New Innovation in the Label Industry Global Awards 2004. The final awards will presented at a Gala Dinner at the Donald E Stevens Convention Center, Rosemont, Illinois on September 13, to coincide with the opening of Labelexpo Americas 2004. The Award for New Innovation, sponsored by HP and Creo, is for a supplier that has less than ten years’ involvement with the label industry and is an “innovative and pioneering company.” Other criteria stipulate that the company: • Has been instrumental in successfully introducing key new science, product or technology solutions to the label industry • Operates with business integrity • Is a good employer committed to education, training and staff development • Is committed to the future development of the label industry • Is environmentally aware/friendly • Participates in industry association events "We are honored and delighted to be nominated for this award," said Gal Shamri, Vice President Marketing for AVT. "The label industry is an area where quality and security standards are of increasing importance, and recognition of AVT’s contribution to quality assurance and process control in this sector is gratifying." "In a relatively short time," Shamri continued, "AVT has introduced a number of solutions, developed specifically for label printers, that have received worldwide recognition and acceptance." Complete Workflow Solutions For Label Printers AVT’s approach to the label printing market is based on providing complete solutions that can be integrated into a printer’s normal production workflow. AVT listens intensively to label printers and works closely with label press manufacturers and finishing equipment suppliers. As a result, AVT’s systems are press and platform independent and can be used with flexo, letterpress, gravure and digital label presses. PrintVision/Helios is a 100% quality assurance solution that can detect both random and process faults. Using optical inspection heads and defect detection algorithms developed especially for the confines of label presses, the PrintVision/Helios compares in-line live jobs with good copy masters put into the system during set-up. Using the Closed Loop option, the reference masters can be from other sources, including prepress PDF files, approved copies or previous jobs. The PrintVision/Helios can be used either on press, or on a rewinder as part of a quality control station. When used on a rewinder, the PrintVision/Helios will stop the rewinder and move the defective label to the operator’s location. Online job/roll reports, with images of all faults, are generated, providing a record with defect analysis. The roll reports are used for improving the internal production workflow as well as a guarantee-of-quality tool for customers. The system can inspect labels of any size, on any label stock, including paper, reflective materials, transparent films, foils, and flexible materials. PrintVision/Jupiter Compact also uses an optical head and detection algorithms and software modules developed for label presses to detect print defects including spots, streaks, mis-prints, color variation and mis-registration. Fault tolerances can be set independently, enabling close control over print quality and faults to be corrected before waste is run. Options for Automatic Bar Code Verification and inspection of transparent materials are available. • IDeltaEal: In-line color measurement module for DeltaE and DeltaLab-based color pre-setting guidance and run-time color management. • PrintFlow: In-line quality report database and defect mapping generator • PrintFlow Manager: Quality management solution, which delivers real-time production quality information directly to the print manager office, providing an important quality information layer on top of the industrial process. • WorkFlow Link solution: Transfers print quality information from the press to the rewinder for automatic defective material removal and effective quality assurance workflow. ProoFit is AVT’s versatile off-line file-to-press verification tool that can compare digital files to printed products and detect errors using an A3 flatbed scanner. ProoFit is designed to support the demanding validation workflow process of pharmaceutical labels printing and provides an approved (CFR 21 part 11) automatic tool for these purposes. All of AVT’s solutions are designed to improve quality, drive down the cost of quality, reduce waste, improve profitability and ensure satisfied customers.
