Graphic Services Installs Two New Presses

Press release from the issuing company

December 18, 2003 -- As the fourth quarter comes to a close, Graphic Services of Rockland, Ma finishes the installation of two presses. They recently purchased a 6 color G-14 Baker Perkins and added automatic cutoff and density controls as well as another Akiyama 12 color J-print sheetfed press. “We are very excited about adding the Baker Perkins to our existing web printing capability,” notes Jim Bailey, Vice President of Sales. “Adding heat set web printing will allow us to provide more value add services to our existing customer as well as enter into new markets.” The Baker Perkins will allow Graphic Services to run 48 pages signatures in the 1 & 2/c book market, as well as longer runs with high quality 6 color printing. “We have had such great success with the 10-color J-Print sheetfed press, purchasing the 12 color was a perfect fit,” adds Bill Fitzgerald, President. “Having 2 J-Print presses will give us incredible capacity to produce more quality work for our customers in Educational Publishing, Financial Services, and General Commercial industries.” The J-Print press utilizes technology that prints both sides of the sheet in one pass, without turning or flipping the sheet. “With these presses, our make-ready times are incredibly quick, and because both sides of the sheet are printed at once, our production run times are much less than standard sheetfed presses,” Fitzgerald adds.
