Oce seals first Arizona T220 success in UK

Press release from the issuing company

December 4th, 2003 -- Oce UK has installed its first Océ Arizona T220 flatbed inkjet printer at James Gray Group in Enfield, North London. The company, which is a sign-printing specialist, said it had realised the importance of investing in new technology now, rather than in 18 months time, when it plans to move to larger premises. JG Group’s managing director, Malcolm Gray said that past experience had shown that new equipment generates new business, and the Océ Arizona T220 would allow JG Group to start pulling in more work now, rather than introducing new equipment at the stressful time of moving. The Océ Arizona T220 prints on to a wide variety of coated or uncoated, and rigid or flexible substrates up to two inches thick, giving its users tremendous choice in the types of applications they can undertake. It prints outdoor-durable work up to 62 inches wide, using six colours (CMYK plus light cyan and light magenta), and can achieve print speeds of up to 16 square metres per hour. It is, therefore, ideal for producing a range of work, such as exhibition graphics, point-of-purchase displays, and outdoor signage. JG Group hopes in particular that the flexible range of substrates possible on the Océ Arizona T220, including printing to glass, will open up possibilities in new markets, such as architectural projects. Within a week of the system’s installation at JG Group, the company had won new business to print images directly onto corrugated polycarbonate for Yo Sushi restaurant. Malcolm Gray added: “We feel the Océ Arizona T220 offers superior image quality over the current market competition. It’s well engineered, and because the media remains stationary on the flatbed, we can achieve accurate imaging. “JG Group is an ambitious company and this purchase is a significant step in our growth plans. It will extend our services and increase productivity by saving time on processes that are currently labour intensive.” Nick Klitsie, Océ UK’s Business Unit Director for Wide Format Printing Systems, said: “We are delighted that the Arizona T220 has already been successful in bringing JG Group new business, and we look forward to continuing to work in partnership with them. “This installation of the Océ Arizona T220 is just the first of many, and we are now seeing real momentum building.”
